Marlborough Summer will offer one-week day and evening time sports camps, in addition to classes during its regular summer session. Sports camps include basketball, softball and volleyball.
This summer, the sports camp schedule is as follows:
June 10-14, 2019
Marlborough’s varsity volleyball coach, Drew Burdette, will provide an opportunity for students to develop their skills in the sport of volleyball. Players will be placed together first by age and then by ability to allow the maximum learning environment for each player. Training will gradually increase in terms of difficulty according to the groups understanding and execution. Individual skills, development and team play will be the main focus of this course.
June 17-21, 2019
- Baseball/Softball (grades 5-8)
- Basketball Skills Development (grades 4-9)
- Basketball Advanced Development (grades 5-11)
Have you ever wanted to learn how to play baseball/softball or are you an experienced player looking to improve your skills? During this week-long camp players will develop their throwing, catching, fielding and hitting skills through fun and interactive drills and games. Athletes will also have the opportunity to better learn the rules of the game. Players will work with Sarah Fobbs, a former Division I softball player, Major League Baseball Instructor and current Head Varsity Softball Coach at Marlborough. Athletes will need to supply a fielding glove and a bat is suggested.
Taught by Chris Rodgers, Marlborough’s varsity basketball coach, this one-week program will focus on improving basic skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. It will also help students to understand the game at a higher level while promoting team-play.
